Planning on visiting us?
Our main goal here at Lydgate is to ensure all our spectators and bands have a fantastic time and enjoy the "greatest free show on earth". To help you prepare for spending your Whit Friday with us, here's the information you need to know.
How to find us
The contest is based at the White Hart Inn, Lydgate. If you're reaching us by car, please note that the car park will be inaccessible and you may need to find off-road parking along Oldham Road.
We're based on the 184 bus route between Oldham and Huddersfield. Our nearest train station is Greenfield, which is 1.5 miles away.
Food and drink
Our fantastic hosts at the White Hart will have plenty of hot food and cold drinks available throughout the event. The menu caters to most dietary restrictions and is child-friendly.
Little Ones
Our event is proudly family-friendly! Most of our board carriers are pupils at St Anne's Primary School in Lydgate.
There is seating available indoors or outdoors.
If your child is performing in a band and is under the age of 16, the Saddleworth area contests will collect all BOPA data at registration.
Disabled Parking
There will be limited disabled parking available at the White Hart Inn.
